Ali Kamel Al-Hasnawi appointed new Babil police chief

BABIL, January 25 – The Ministry of Interior issued an official order on Thursday appointing Brigadier Ali Kamel Al-Hasnawi as the new chief of Babil police, succeeding Major General Khaled Al-Shammari.

The ministry issued a press release, which stated, “The Iraqi Ministry of Interior issued an order appointing Brigadier Ali Kamel Al-Husnawi as the Commander of the Babil Governorate Police, succeeding Major General Khaled Torki Al-Shammari. This appointment came based on the approval of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, and on the competence and capabilities of Brigadier Al-Hasnwi, and his long experience in the police.”

Al-Hasnawi said he was proud of the appointment and pledged to work on enhancing security and stability in Babil Governorate.

According to the Ministry, senior police officers held a handover ceremony where Major General Al-Shammari passed on his duties to Brigadier Al-Hasnawi.

Al-Shammari congratulated Al-Hasnawi on his new post, wishing him success in his new tasks.

Brigadier Al-Hasnawi is known for his extensive experience in the field, having held several leadership positions in various directorates of the Governorate Police Command.
