Will the Baghdad-Tehran security deal survive?

Iraqi defense minister says that Iran should have informed Baghdad about espionage concerns

BAGHDAD, January 17 — Iraqi Defense Minister Thabet Mohammed Al-Abbasi condemned this week’s Iranian strikes on the Kurdistan Region and hinted at the possible suspension of a security agreement between Baghdad and Tehran.

Al-Abbasi spoke to Al-Hadath News and said:

The attacks on Erbil contradict the security agreement with Iran, which may lead to its suspension. Iran’s actions harm bilateral relations, and it should have provided information about espionage activities in Erbil to Iraqi authorities for verification.
