Erbil hospital records two dog bites per day throughout 2023
ERBIL, January 15– In 2023, Erbil documented over 700 cases of dog bites, averaging about two incidents per day, according to data released by the West Erbil Emergency Hospital.
The statistics reveal a peak in dog bite incidents during December, totalling 95 cases. February accounted for 60 cases, March 78, April 73, May 60, June 69, July 45, August 50, September 36, October 68, and November witnessed the lowest count with 28 cases.
In response to the escalating incidents, Erbil has taken proactive measures by establishing a shelter dedicated to gathering stray dogs and addressing the concerns.
