Sudani reviews electricity project priorities for 2023 budget
BAGHDAD, August 7 — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani chaired a meeting on Sunday dedicated to monitoring 2023 budget priorities for implementing electricity projects.
The meeting’s aim was to ensure optimal budget utilization and progress towards completing infrastructure projects.
The government’s media office released a statement that said:
During the meeting, discussions were held on overcoming administrative obstacles and financing challenges to make the best use of the budget and advance infrastructure projects in this vital sector.
The meeting also involved reviewing the project map and priorities, including projects that have reached advanced stages or are essential for electricity production and distribution infrastructure. Additionally, complementary and related projects from the private sector were monitored.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of the energy production and distribution sector, as well as the significance of modernization, maintenance, and addressing issues without affecting the services provided to citizens. He stressed the necessity of adhering to timelines and intensifying efforts in areas requiring swift and fundamental actions.
