Shaqlawa embarks on artistic beautification project

SHAQLAWA, August 6 — Shaqlawa Municipality is implementing a beautification plan for the city’s walls, sidewalks, and the slopes of Mount Safin by adorning these spaces with various artworks, including a reproduction of the world-renowned painter Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night.’

Born in the Netherlands in 1853, Vincent van Gogh painted ‘Starry Night’ in 1889, and today, artists are replicating it on some of Shaqlawa’s walls.

Rekan Hussein, Mayor of Shaqlawa, stated, “Several fine arts professors and talented individuals from Shaqlawa have painted several artworks on the city’s walls and sidewalks.”

“Work is currently underway on the sidewalks and walls located at the entrances of Shaqlawa, along with efforts to increase green spaces and parks to add greater beauty to the city.”

“The campaign started ten days ago and will continue until all entrances of the city are adorned.”
