Al-Sudani opens celebration square for New Year’s Eve in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, December 30 — In anticipation of the upcoming New Year celebrations, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has given instructions for the opening of the celebration square and the Green Zone on the Karkh side of Baghdad.

Statement from the media office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, read:

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has directed relevant authorities to open the celebration square on the Karkh side of Baghdad to citizens and to keep the gates of the Green Zone open after midnight on Sunday-Monday of this week on the occasion of the New Year. May the Almighty bring all Iraqis goodness and joy.
