Miru: Special vote glitch won’t affect the general one

BAGHDAD, December 17 — In an email to the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), Miru Systems Co., the company responsible for the electronic voting system, acknowledged a technical defect that affected the special voting process on December 16, 2023. The failure in transmitting data from a number of special voting stations, was confirmed by the company’s technicians to be isolated to the special voting and is not expected to occur in the general voting.

Miru’s email was sent to the gmail account of the tender department of IHEC and was signed by Burhan Emam Ali, the Business Development and General Manager at Miru Systems Co.
