Iraq sends fourth humanitarian aid shipment to Gaza

BAGHDAD, November 21 — Official spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, announced on Tuesday the departure of an Iraqi aircraft carrying a new shipment of food and relief materials to the Gaza Strip. It is the fourth shipment of aid sent by Iraqi authorities to the besieged Palestinian territory since the war on Gaza began after Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.

The statement from Maj. Gen. Rasoul said:

Under the directives of Prime Minister and the supervision of the Minister of Defense and the Chief of Staff of the Army, C-130 aircraft of the Air Force took off on Tuesday, 21-11-2023, loaded with a shipment of food weighing 11 tons and 280 kilograms. The aircraft departed from the Martyr Mohammed Alaa Air Base to land at El Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, to deliver this aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Additional food and medical supplies will be provided, noting that this aircraft is the fourth to depart from Iraqi territory to Egyptian territory, loaded with food and relief materials for our people in Palestine.
