Hot Thursday with dust overnight before temperatures drop Friday
BAGHDAD — Thursday will bring hot to very hot daytime conditions across Iraq with a chance of light rain in limited eastern areas of the north and central regions, the Meteorological Authority said, before temperatures fall sharply on Friday as dust sweeps central and southern areas.
Thursday winds will be light to moderate southeasterlies of 10–20 km/h, strengthening overnight in western central areas to gusts of 45 km/h and raising dust. Visibility will be 8–10 km, dropping to 4–6 km in dusty conditions.
Friday will be partly cloudy with light thundershowers in scattered northern areas and dust in central and southern regions. Northwesterly winds of 30–40 km/h will raise dust widely, with visibility falling to 2–4 km in affected areas. Temperatures will drop by several degrees nationwide.
Saturday will be clear to partly cloudy with light thundershowers possible in the north. Northwesterly winds of 20–30 km/h and visibility of 5–7 km. Temperatures will rise slightly in central and northern regions and dip slightly in the south.
Sunday and Monday will be clear with some cloud, light to moderate northwesterly winds of 10–20 km/h and gradually rising temperatures. Visibility 6–8 km.
