Showers expected across Iraq with slight temperature drop

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see partly to fully cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in northern and southern areas on Tuesday, with scattered showers extending to central regions, the General Authority for Meteorology said. Rainfall may intensify in eastern parts of the north and south during the evening, with possible hail and downdrafts in some areas. Visibility will range between six and eight kilometers, dropping to two to four during heavy rain. Winds will be northwesterly at 10 to 20 km/h in central and northern areas, with southeasterly winds of similar speed in the south.

Wednesday will be mostly clear with some clouds in central and southern regions, with possible light rain in the north and temperatures holding steady. Thursday will be generally clear with temperatures rising a few degrees centrally and slightly in the north and south. Friday will be partly cloudy with chances of light rain in northern areas and western parts, with southeasterly winds becoming more active in the west. Saturday will see partly to fully cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across various parts of Iraq, with southeasterly winds in the south gusting to 50 km/h and raising dust.
