Baghdad airport denies closure reports as flights resume across Iraq
BAGHDAD — Baghdad International Airport authorities denied reports of any closure on Thursday, confirming that air traffic and passenger movement are continuing without interruption.
“Baghdad International Airport is open and there is no closure of the airport,” airport management director Hussein al-Zubaidi told the Iraqi News Agency.
Iraqi airspace fully reopened Wednesday following the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, ending a 38-day suspension. A Flydubai aircraft became the first to land at Basra International Airport after the reopening.
