Iraq’s Security Media Cell denies reports of strikes in Maysan and Taji

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Security Media Cell on Saturday denied reports of alleged strikes in Maysan governorate and the Taji area, calling the claims inaccurate.

“We categorically deny the existence of any targeting in Maysan governorate or the Taji area, and what is being circulated in this regard is inaccurate,” Security Media Cell head Saad Maan said.

The denial comes as Jurf al-Nasr north of Babil was struck twice on Saturday — first in raids that killed two people and wounded three, and again at 7:25 p.m. in a second round of airstrikes.
