Explosion at Sulaymaniyah gas station injures four

SULAYMANIYAH — An explosion at a gas station in Sulaymaniyah injured four people and caused damage to several vehicles and the station building, according to local officials.

The incident occurred at the Halgurd Gas Station on 60-Meter Street, near the Shar hospital.

Preliminary accounts suggest a malfunction in the gas system may have triggered the explosion, though no official confirmation has been issued.

Aram Ali, spokesperson for Sulaymaniyah Civil Defense, told 964media, “We don’t yet know the cause of the explosion, but investigations are ongoing.”

Saman Nader, head of Sulaymaniyah Emergency Response Center, said, “Four people were injured. Three of them were taken to the Shar hospital, and one received treatment at the scene.”
