Al-Qaim farm offers families a natural retreat with animals, birds, and crops

ANBAR — A farm in Al-Qaim, Anbar governorate, spans 12 dunams (4 acres) and is home to several types of animals, birds, and agricultural projects, opening its gates free of charge to visitors from across Iraq, according to farm manager Hassan Toma Al-Ani.

“The farm is divided into several sections,” Al-Ani told 964media. “It has a sanctuary, cages for chickens and pigeons, and agricultural land where we grow various crops such as palm trees, wheat, and barley.”

The site houses 20 reindeer, a swimming pool, and a fish pond. Its current bird sanctuary, measuring 20 by 12 meters, contains cockatiels and between 20 and 25 peacocks in both white and blue varieties.

Families from Al-Qaim, Husaybah, Ana, and Rawa regularly visit the farm. “Entry is free of charge, and everyone is welcome at any time,” Al-Aani said.

Future plans include establishing large fields for cows and sheep, a bigger fish pond, and designated areas to bring in other animals such as monkeys.

The farm was founded in 2018. “Today, families come here to see the animals and enjoy their time,” Al-Ani said.
