Two brothers killed, one injured in family dispute shooting in Kirkuk

KIRKUK — Two brothers were killed and a third seriously injured Thursday when their cousin opened fire on them near the market in Dibis district, northwest of Kirkuk, a security source said.

“Three brothers from the Shammar tribe were shot this evening by their cousin in Dibis,” the source told 964media. The shooting occurred near the district’s market center.

The attacker fled the scene after the incident. Preliminary information indicated the motive was linked to a family dispute, according to the source.

Security forces transported the victims to the forensic department and the injured man to Kirkuk General Hospital. Authorities said an investigation has been opened.
