Hot day, mild night across Iraq on Thursday

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Meteorological Authority reported Thursday that weather across the country will be hot to very hot during the day and mild at night, under the influence of a seasonal thermal low.

In a statement, the authority said temperatures are expected to drop slightly in northern areas, while remaining similar to previous levels in central and southern regions.

Winds will be light and variable, ranging between 5 and 10 km/h, occasionally shifting to a light northwesterly direction.

Visibility is expected to decrease to between 5 and 7 kilometers in some areas due to haze and suspended pollutants.
