Farmer killed in tractor accident in Tuz Khurmatu

TUZ KHURMATU — A 50-year-old farmer was killed Thursday when his tractor overturned in the village of Nalashkene in the Dawuda area of Tuz Khurmatu district, local officials said.

The victim, identified as Taimur Hassan, was plowing his land when the vehicle tipped on a slope and pinned him beneath it.

Wahab Ahmed, director of Zanane subdistrict, said the farmer lost control of the tractor and had no one nearby to help. “Because there was no one close enough to help, the farmer lost his life,” he said.

Hassan, originally from Sulaymaniyah, owned a house in Dawuda and regularly traveled there to farm. He was visiting his land as usual when the fatal accident occurred.
