Al-Duluiya marks graduation of more than 800 students from Quran and Hadith programs
AL-DULUIYA — More than 800 students graduated from Quran memorization and Hadith study programs in al-Duluiya, Salah al-Din governorate, during a central ceremony organized under the sponsorship of Iraq’s Sunni Endowment. Families, clerics, and local officials attended the event, which celebrated the role of community-based education in preserving religious teachings.
Abdullah Khalaf, head of the guidance division in al-Duluiya Endowment, told 964media that the ceremony was held with the participation of the Sunni Endowment, the Salah al-Din Endowments Directorate, and the Association of Imams and Preachers of al-Duluiya. “We witnessed the graduation of more than 800 students who completed the recitation and memorization of the Quran,” he said.
Abdul Baset Daham, imam of al-Rahman Mosque, said the program was launched on June 15 under the direction of the Sunni Endowment as part of summer activities. “This year’s results were impressive, as the number of participants, boys and girls, exceeded 1,800, distributed across more than 20 mosques,” he said. “Through these courses, children learned intellectual, doctrinal, and behavioral protection from deviant ideas targeting their age groups.”
Programs of Quran memorization and Islamic studies, often run in mosques during the summer months, are a longstanding feature of Iraq’s religious education system. Clerics describe them as vital for strengthening community ties and instilling values in younger generations.
Graduate Musa Ali said the courses offered both spiritual and educational benefits. “We learned to recite all parts and verses of the Quran, in addition to Hadith and the meanings of words, under the supervision of Imam Asim Center,” he said. “Today we celebrate our graduation in a beautiful ceremony attended by imams and families of the area. Thanks to everyone who came and shared this joy with us.”
