Iraqi PM orders cancellation of admissions waivers for military and security colleges
BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani issued a directive on Wednesday canceling all exceptions to admission in military and security colleges and institutes across Iraq. The decision aims to ensure fair competition and equal opportunity based on legal standards and established regulations.
According to the order, which was addressed to the Ministries of Defense and Interior, “All exceptions granted for admission to military and security colleges and institutes are hereby canceled. Competition must be conducted in accordance with the law, standards, and regulations to guarantee justice and equality among applicants.”
The directive also suspends the authority of the ministers of defense and interior to issue individual exceptions. It instructs relevant bodies to adhere strictly to legal admission mechanisms and to prevent any unofficial inclusion of names during or after the application process.
The statement added that only those officially listed as reserves may be accepted according to proper procedures and standards. Oversight bodies, including the Federal Commission of Integrity, are tasked with monitoring and reviewing any violations related to the admissions process.
