Basra sends medical aid to Iran as Iraq shows support in Israel conflict

BASRA — Iraq’s Basra Health Directorate on Thursday dispatched its first shipment of medical aid to Iran, part of a broader show of support as the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies.

The shipment includes 1,600 boxes of medicine and first aid supplies, all donated by pharmacy owners in Basra.

“This shipment was launched under the direction of the Prime Minister and under the direct supervision of the Basra Governor,” said Sara Al-Eidani, head of the pharmacy department at the Basra Health Directorate. “All the materials were secured through donations from pharmacy owners in Basra.”
