Iraq’s embassy in Damascus denies reports of visa fee increases

NEWSROOM — The Iraqi Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday denied reports circulating on social media and some media outlets that the visa fee for Iraqis entering Syria had been raised to $250.

“The fee remains at $50 and has not changed,” the embassy said in a statement.

The embassy said it had contacted the relevant Syrian authorities and found no confirmation of the reported increase.

“We hope all our brothers rely on official and trusted sources when sharing news,” the embassy concluded.
