Iraq’s electoral commission opens applications for polling staff ahead vote

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission announced Tuesday that an online application form for individuals interested in working as polling staff in the upcoming parliamentary elections will go live Tuesday evening.

Commission spokesperson Jumana Al-Ghalai told 964media, “The form will go live this evening for those who wish to apply to work as polling staff for the upcoming parliamentary elections.”

The application will be accessible through the commission’s official website and social media platforms. Each governorate will have its own dedicated link, allowing residents to apply based on their place of residence.

To qualify, applicants must be between the ages of 19 and 55 and live in the governorate where they are applying. Priority will be given to current state employees.

Iraq’s sixth parliamentary election is scheduled to take place on Nov. 11, 2025.
