Iraq’s election commission extends registration deadline for parties and coalitions
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission announced Tuesday a new extension for the registration period of political coalitions, parties, and individual candidate lists seeking to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for Nov. 11, 2025.
The new deadline is set for the end of the official working hours on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
According to the commission, the extension applies to entities contesting both general seats and minority seats in the elections.
Earlier this month, IHEC announced an extension of the registration deadline to May 14.
As of May 4, 71 political coalitions and parties had completed registration, according to available data.
