Al-Sudani holds talks with UAE president on bilateral cooperation and regional issues

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani spoke by phone on Tuesday with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss “strengthening” bilateral ties and addressing regional developments.

According to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office, the two leaders “emphasized the importance of joint Arab action” and highlighted “the severe humanitarian crises for civilians” caused by the conflict in Gaza.

This follows another phone call today between Al-Sudani and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which they discussed regional developments, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held a phone call today, Tuesday, with the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The call covered the overall state of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, particularly in political and economic spheres, in light of the constructive cooperation witnessed between the two countries.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of joint Arab action regarding ongoing developments in the region—especially the continued war in Gaza, which has resulted in severe humanitarian crises for civilians. The leaders also stressed the need to sustain regional security and stability.
