Eight-year-old boy killed in hit-and-run in Qaladze

QALADZE — An eight-year-old boy was killed Saturday in a hit-and-run on 60 Street in Qaladze, near the courthouse, according to local traffic officials.

Luqman Mohammed, a traffic officer, told 964media the boy was struck while walking with his mother and another relative. The driver fled the scene.

“The vehicle approached at high speed, struck the child, and continued without stopping,” he said.

The child’s body was taken to Qaladze Hospital. Authorities have opened an investigation and will release the body to the family following a forensic examination. The driver has not yet been identified.
