Al-Sudani, Jordan’s Al-Safadi discuss regional coordination, bilateral ties in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met Thursday with Jordanian Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Al-Safadi to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, with both sides expressing support for deeper parliamentary and economic cooperation.

The meeting also touched on regional developments, including the conflict in Gaza. According to a statement from the prime minister’s media office, both delegations emphasized “the need for unified international efforts to halt the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and to condemn the brutal crimes committed against the Palestinian people.”

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi, along with his accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, particularly in parliamentary coordination and economic partnership toward broader horizons that serve mutual interests.

Discussions also addressed the importance of continued coordination in confronting the region’s ongoing challenges. Both sides emphasized the need for unified international efforts to halt the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and to condemn the brutal crimes committed against the Palestinian people. They also stressed the urgency of intensifying joint efforts aimed at preserving peace and promoting lasting stability across the region.
