Armed clash in Muthanna results in drug dealer’s arrest

BAGHDAD, October 19 — An armed confrontation between the police and a drug dealer in Muthanna ended on Thursday with the injury and apprehension of the wanted suspect, caught in the act.

A statement from the Ministry of Interior, a copy of which was received by 964 Network, read:

“A special force from the Directorate General for Drug and Psychotropic Substances in the Ministry of Interior engaged in a confrontation with drug traffickers in Muthanna.

They managed to injure one of the wanted suspects and subsequently arrested him in the act.

Legal procedures were taken against him according to Law No. 50 of 2017, related to drugs and psychotropic substances.”
