Last seen in Soran's Gali Ali Beg

Search continues for Erbil man missing for over a month

ERBIL – Authorities are intensifying their search for a 53-year-old man who has been missing for more than a month. Azad Maran Musa, a married resident of Bastora in the Bastura subdistrict of Pirmam, left his home on Jan. 22 and has not been seen since.

Family members have been collaborating with Soran’s civil defense teams, but despite extensive efforts, no leads have emerged. The last confirmed sighting was recorded by a surveillance camera in Soran’s Gali Ali Beg area.

Nihad Harki, a relative of Musa, told 964media that despite extensive searches in various locations, there has been no success in locating him.

Karwan Mirawdali, head of Soran’s Civil Defense Directorate, confirmed that his teams have focused their efforts in the area where Musa was last seen. “We have been searching continuously for over a month and will continue into the second month at full capacity,” Mirawdali told 964media. “If no progress is made by the third month, search efforts will be reduced, and a final report will be submitted to the authorities.”

Another relative, Dilshad Haji Yousif, noted that although Musa had previously struggled with psychological issues, he had shown signs of improvement in recent months.
