Diwaniyah boy rescued after falling in sewage manhole
DIWANIYAH — Police patrols rescued a 10-year-old boy Sunday after he fell into a sewage manhole while returning home from school, according to the Diwaniyah Police Command.
“The rescue police patrols assigned to secure schools in Ghamas managed to save a 10-year-old boy after he fell into a sewage pipe,” the Diwaniyah Police Command said in a statement. “Their outstanding effort deserves recognition, and the child was safely returned to his family in good health.”
The company responsible for the Ghamas Grand Sewer Project stated that it had handed over the project to the local municipality and was not responsible for safety measures related to the incident. A source from the company told 964media, “The Ghamas Grand Sewer Project was handed over to the municipal department some time ago, and the company bears no responsibility for safety measures.”
