Jordan’s king and Iraqi prime minister discuss Palestinian situation by phone

BAGHDAD, October 8 — A statement from the office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani announced on Sunday that he held a telephone discussion with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Hussein, regarding the developments in the Palestinian territories.

The statement received by Network 964 read:

“Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani and King of Jordan discuss by phone the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

During the call, both parties emphasized the importance of Arab and Islamic unity of stance and the urgent need to halt the escalation and jointly work towards stopping the ongoing violations committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people. These violations have been the main cause of the tension in the Palestinian territories.

They also underscored the necessity of adhering to international resolutions that have been disregarded by the Zionist entity, and the importance of continuing regional and international efforts towards the recovery of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state with its capital in Jerusalem.”
