41-year-old Woman dies after liposuction procedure in Sulaymaniyah

SULAYMANIYAH — A 41-year-old woman from Sulaymaniyah died Monday evening following a liposuction procedure at a private hospital in the city. The surgeon who performed the operation has been detained as authorities investigate the incident.

The woman’s son, Mohammed Dilshad, told 964media, “Yesterday evening, my mother underwent liposuction surgery at a private hospital in Sulaymaniyah. Tragically, she passed away around 10:00 p.m., shortly after the procedure.”

He claimed that essential pre-surgical tests were overlooked. “No electrocardiogram or other heart-related evaluations were conducted before the surgery,” he stated.

Her family members told 964media that she had no prior record of health issues.

The woman’s body, who was a mother of two, has been transferred to Sulaymaniyah’s forensic medicine department for examination, as investigators work to determine the cause of death.

According to her son, legal action against the surgeon is progressing.
