Iraq extends condolences to South Korea over Muan airport plane crash

BAGHDAD– Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences to the government and people of South Korea on Sunday following a plane crash at Muan International Airport.

A passenger plane crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea, resulting in significant casualties. The aircraft reportedly skidded off the runway upon landing, erupting into flames and causing widespread damage.

Reports indicate that at least 177 people are dead. Emergency services responded promptly, but the fire engulfed the aircraft rapidly, complicating rescue efforts.

In a press release, the ministry “Expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Republic of South Korea following the tragic plane crash at Muan International Airport, which resulted in a number of casualties.”

“The Ministry extends its heartfelt solidarity with the families of the victims, reaffirming Iraq’s full support during this painful tragedy. The Ministry also expresses its hope that the South Korean people will overcome this ordeal with determination and patience and wishes a swift recovery for the injured,” the press release read.
