Sticky bomb explosions target vehicles in Baghdad and Basra

BAGHDAD – Two separate sticky bomb explosions occurred on Monday evening, targeting parked vehicles in Baghdad’s Al-Shaab district and Basra’s Nawab Al-Dhobbat neighborhood. Both incidents caused significant material damage but no casualties.

In Baghdad, a sticky bomb detonated on a Chevrolet Tahoe belonging to a 23-year-old Ministry of Health employee in the Al-Tijar neighborhood of Al-Shaab district. “The explosion caused extensive damage to the vehicle, but no injuries were reported,” a local source told 964media. The car was parked on a street near Balqis School at the time of the blast.

In Basra, security forces swiftly responded to a similar incident in the Nawab Al-Dhobbat area. A white Chevrolet Tahoe, parked in front of its owner’s residence, was targeted. “The explosion resulted in severe damage to the vehicle but did not cause any injuries,” a security source told 964media.

Authorities confirmed the explosions were caused by adhesive bombs planted on the vehicles. Security forces have cordoned off the affected areas and launched investigations to identify the perpetrators and uncover the circumstances surrounding the attacks.
