PM Al-Sudani and Saudi crown prince discuss Syrian situation and its implications
BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani held a phone conversation on Wednesday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss developments in Syria and enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, according to the prime minister’s office.
The leaders emphasized the importance of Arab coordination and dialogue among Syrian parties to ensure the country’s security.
Discussions also explored ways to expand cooperation across various sectors to advance shared interests.
The calls followed PM Al-Sudani’s visit to Jorden on Wednesday, in which he met with King Abdullah II, focusing on the regional stability in the wake of events in Syria.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received a phone call today from the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The call focused on the latest developments in Syria and their implications for the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint Arab coordination and the need to promote dialogue among all Syrian parties to ensure Syria’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Discussions also addressed bilateral relations between the two nations, exploring ways to enhance and expand cooperation across various sectors to serve the shared interests of the two brotherly nations.
Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saudi Arabia’s successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, expressing his best wishes for continued prosperity and advancement for the Kingdom and its brotherly people.
