Two killed in fiery crash near Kirkuk Airport
KIRKUK — A crash on the road leading to Kirkuk Airport on Wednesday claimed the lives of a man and a woman, who were burned beyond recognition after their vehicle caught fire.
The incident occurred at around 12:10 p.m. when a Toyota Highlander traveling from Baghdad was involved in a crash and subsequently burst into flames.
“Two individuals inside the vehicle, a man and a woman, were burned,” a source from the Kirkuk Civil Defense Directorate told 964media.
Kirkuk’s Civil Defense teams extinguished the fire, but the identities of the victims remain unknown, as no identification documents were found at the scene. The bodies have been sent to the forensic department for further examination.
