Young violinist Shwan Rizgar captivates audience with performance in Sulaymaniyah
SULAYMANIYAH — Nine-year-old musical prodigy Shwan Rizgar captivated audiences with a violin performance during a concert by the Sulaymaniyah Symphony Orchestra on September 5 at the Sulaymaniyah Art Hall. The young talent performed in front of many of Kurdistan’s esteemed musicians, showcasing his impressive skill.
Shwan, who has been studying music under the guidance of his teacher, Ako Aziz, wowed attendees with his remarkable performance. He has been learning the piano for two years and studying the violin for a year and a half.
Reflecting on his performance, Shwan said, “It was wonderful to see all those people. They applauded me, and Iraq’s First Lady, Mrs. Shanaz, presented me with a flower, which I thanked her for in return.”
Shwan’s musical abilities extend beyond just technical skill—he has a keen ear for both Kurdish and international melodies. “I want to become a skillful and renowned musician and be heard around the world,” he shared.
Currently in the fourth grade, Shwan manages to balance his academic studies with his passion for music. “We study a lot in school to advance in science and other subjects,” he said.
Ako Aziz, his music teacher, praised Shwan’s extraordinary talent. “He is a truly exceptional individual in every respect. I am stunned by his abilities,” Aziz said.
Many believe Shwan has a bright future in music, with the potential to become one of the region’s most promising young musicians.
