Kurdistan agency warns against fake height growth supplement

ERBIL — The Kurdistan Medicine Control Agency, a division of the Kurdistan Regional Government Health Ministry responsible for regulating medicine, has issued a warning about a fake supplement being marketed for height growth. The agency stated that this product, advertised as a solution for increasing height, “poses a serious health risk to consumers.”

In their statement, the agency revealed that the supplement, branded as “Height Growth Powder,” is being heavily promoted on social media platforms. “The product is fraudulent, unauthorized, and contains dangerous ingredients that could severely impact the health of users,” the agency warned.

“We urge citizens to be cautious and avoid purchasing this product, especially since it is being advertised on international websites,” the agency added. “These online platforms are often unreliable, and the products they promote are frequently unregulated, counterfeit, and filled with harmful substances that violate medical and food safety laws.”

This supplement is also not listed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The agency also advised the public to seek medical treatment only through qualified healthcare professionals and to purchase medications exclusively from licensed pharmacies.

The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Health consistently cautions the public against purchasing medications online. “Several counterfeit products are being advertised on social networks and sold online. Therefore, we warn citizens to avoid purchasing medicine online by any means and not to be influenced by misleading advertisements and propaganda,” the Ministry stated.

The statement concluded with advice to the public: “Only purchase medicines that are legal and have the official Ministry of Health sticker.” Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help combat the spread of unregulated and potentially harmful products.
