Driver seriously injured in crash after falling asleep at wheel
TUZ KHURMATU — A driver was seriously injured after he fell asleep at the wheel and collided with a truck on the Kirkuk-Baghdad Road in Tuz Khurmatu on Friday, according to local police.
Muayad Abbas, the head of Tuz Khurmatu Traffic Police, reported that the accident occurred as the vehicle was traveling from Kirkuk to Baghdad. The driver, who was near the district’s center at the time, lost control.
“The driver of the private vehicle fell asleep and crashed into a truck,” Abbas said.
The injured driver has been transported to the district hospital for treatment.
