Iraq central bank announces currency sales surpassing $278 million

BAGHDAD — The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) on Monday disclosed its currency sales amounted to over $278 million in one-day transactions, based on the official exchange rate of 1,310 per U.S. dollar.

According to the bank’s data, total domestic cash withdrawals stood at just over $40.4 million. Meanwhile, the total for external transfers, including remittances and credits, reached more than $238.1 million. Overall sales for the day were more than $278.5 million.
