Warte traffic police station to open

WARTE – Shorish Hassan, director of the Warte sub-district, has confirmed the decision to reopen the traffic police station in the Warte area, pending the procurement of necessary equipment.

The Warte area in the eastern part of Erbil province serves as a crucial transit point linking the Soran and Raparin administrations, making it a heavily traveled route.

“The station’s location has been secured, and we await the General Directorate of Traffic Police to provide the necessary equipment,” Hassan stated.

He highlighted the challenges posed by the absence of a traffic police station, especially given the area’s status as a tourist destination, resulting in frequent traffic incidents.

With the reopening of the traffic police station, Warte will have a comprehensive range of governmental departments and agencies, according to the sub-district director.

The Warte district encompasses 17 villages, with the current population nearing two thousand households.
