Al-Qurnah’s Adam tree park rehabilitation project nears completion

AL-QURNAH — The rehabilitation project for the renowned Adam’s Tree Park and Al-Umma Park in Al-Qurnah is nearly complete, with progress reaching 99%, according to Adel Al-Musawi, director of the Al-Qurnah Municipality.

Adel Al-Musawi, municipal director of Al-Qurnah for 964media, stated, “This project is part of the food security projects for 2022, with a completion period of 364 days, and the project value is 1.24 billion Iraqi dinars, executed by the contracting company.”

“The project included the complete rehabilitation of Al-Umma Park and Adam’s Tree, in addition to the installation of playgrounds, fences, benches, pavement rehabilitation, the construction of a fountain, and a mini-corniche on the Tigris River side, specifically at the location of Adam’s Tree,” Al-Musawi explained. “The project also involved the creation of a cultural street in Al-Qurnah with a fully equipped theater for cultural activities.”

He further noted, “Soon, a 3-kilometer long Corniche project on the Tigris River will be put to tender, and it is set to become one of the most beautiful recreational areas in Iraq.”
