Iraqi prime minister and Japanese ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation

BAGHDAD, August 27 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani met with Japanese Ambassador Futoshi Matsumoto on Sunday to discuss bilateral cooperation in various fields, including healthcare and renewable energy.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office:

“The meeting addressed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the mutual cooperation in different areas, including economics, culture, healthcare, and renewable energy.

The discussions also emphasized the shared desire of Iraq and Japan to exchange visits at various levels.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted the government’s eagerness to enhance economic cooperation with Japan and to welcome Japanese companies to invest in Iraq.

He emphasized the conducive investment environment and promising investment opportunities that could contribute to further development and prosperity.”
