Dairy plant bust

Seizure of spoiled milk in Akre leads to factory closure

AKRE — In a health and safety crackdown, the Akre Economic Security Office, in collaboration with the Zeravani Health Unit, seized 3.5 tons of expired milk at a dairy plant in the Khalilkan community, Akre district. The operation uncovered that the milk had exceeded its expiration date and was unfit for consumption.

Nechirvan Fakhreddin, spokesperson for the Akre Health Directorate, told 964media that the expired milk, found on Thursday morning, had been on the market for some time and was being turned into yogurt.

“Security and health authorities have closed the factory, and its owner is under investigation,” Fakhreddin stated.

Further investigation revealed that the entire batch of milk was not only expired but also spoiled and could not be safely used in any product.
