‘Counterfeit goods’ seized in the Port of Umm Qasr
BASRA — The Port of Umm Qasr Directorate in southern Iraq seized four containers on Monday containing a complete factory for lacking a certificate of origin and possessing a forged invoice.
According to a statement from the directorate received by 964media mentions that the Port of Umm Qasr Directorate in southern Iraq seized (4) containers outside the customs area at the search and investigation point containing a (complete factory). Upon inspection of the goods and auditing of the completed customs transaction, it was revealed that the certificate of origin was invalid and the invoice was forged.
A seizure report was prepared by the port authorities, and the confiscated goods and customs transaction were referred to the Khour Abdullah Customs Police Center to present the matter before the investigating judge for appropriate legal action, the statement added.
