Iraqi president approves new local governor-elects
BAGHDAD – President Abdul Latif Rashid approved on Tuesday the appointment of new governors in several key governorates, including Baghdad, Basra, Nineveh, Babil, Karbala, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Najaf, Anbar, Muthanna, Maysan, and Diwaniyah.
Statement:
His Excellency President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid today, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, approved the issuance of presidential decrees appointing a number of governors for the governorates of Baghdad, Basra, Nineveh, Babil, Karbala, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Najaf, Anbar, Muthanna, Maysan, and Diwaniyah after completing the audit procedures by the Legal Department. The procedures for appointing and issuing decrees for the remaining governors will also be completed.
