Joint committee to oversee the implementation

Duhok mandates daycares and schools in residential projects

DUHOK – The Duhok Investment Directorate, in coordination with the Directorate of Education, has instituted a policy requiring all residential projects in Duhok to include daycares and schools if they were not part of the original plan.

A joint committee has been established to oversee this initiative.

Haval Sadiq, the General Director of Duhok Investment, informed 964media that they conduct visits to housing projects to ensure compliance. Any project found without a school or daycare will be required to construct these facilities.

“For daycares, developers are allowed to allocate two units within their project and convert them into a daycare center. However, if a school is not included in the project, owners must build one outside their project in a location designated by the Duhok Directorate of Education,” Sadiq explained.

Since 2007, 37 residential projects in Duhok have been granted licenses, with the new mandate ensuring that future projects include educational facilities.
