Driver killed, two injured in crash on Koya–Erbil road

ERBIL — A driver was killed and two passengers injured Sunday in a traffic accident involving a freight truck and a private car on the Koya–Erbil road near the Smaqoli area, according to a statement from the Koya Traffic Directorate.

Authorities said the collision occurred when the two vehicles crashed, killing the private car’s driver at the scene. The other two passengers in the vehicle were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The traffic directorate urged drivers to follow road safety regulations and posted speed limits to help prevent similar accidents.
