Plans underway to build helipads at Lalish Temple

SHEIKHAN, January 17 — Plans are underway to construct helipads at Lalish Temple, the Yezidi holy site situated in Nineveh’s Sheikhan district.

Khalid Narmo, Mayor of Sheikhan and supervisor of the Lalish renovation project, informed 964media that multiple initiatives, totaling 2.5 billion dinars, are in progress at the site.

The projects include the creation of pedestrian pathways, access routes, and fortified walls.

Narmo revealed that plans also include building two helicopter landing sites to accommodate visitors arriving by air.

Financed by the Nineveh governorate, and under the supervision of the Yazidi spiritual council, 30 percent of the project has been completed so far.
