National security advisor discusses agreement with Iranian delegation

BAGHDAD, January 10 — National Security Advisor Qassem Al-Araji on Wednesday discussed with an Iranian security delegation the monitoring of the implementation of the security agreement between Iraq and Iran. The meeting also assessed the progress of its steps, in addition to addressing issues related to border security, smuggling, and infiltration.

The National Security Advisor, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, received a high-level Iranian security delegation today, Wednesday.

During the meeting, discussions focused on monitoring the implementation of the security agreement between Iraq and Iran and assessing the progress of its steps between the two countries.

Mr. Al-Araji reiterated the commitment of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed shiaa al-Sudani, to execute and personally follow up on this agreement, ensuring no tolerance for any lapses in implementing its provisions.

The meeting also addressed issues related to border security, preventing smuggling and infiltration, along with a joint affirmation to continue advancing the security agreement between the two countries for the benefit of both friendly nations and their peoples.
