Rain and rising temperatures forecast across Iraq through the week

BAGHDAD — Rain will continue in northern and parts of central Iraq through the week, with temperatures gradually rising across the country, the General Authority for Meteorology said Sunday.

Monday will be partly to fully cloudy in central and northern regions with light to moderate rainfall, thundery at times in the north, while the south remains mostly clear. Maximum temperatures will range from 17°C in Sulaymaniyah to 29°C in Basra, with visibility between eight and 10 kilometers, dropping to five to seven during rain.

Tuesday will see continued cloud cover and light to moderate rain in the north and northern parts of central Iraq, with temperatures rising slightly in central and southern regions. Wednesday will bring similar conditions, with rain and thunder in the north while central and southern areas see mostly clear skies and a slight temperature rise across the country.

Thursday will be fair to partly cloudy in central and southern regions, with the north seeing cloudy skies and rain in most areas, and temperatures rising slightly in central and northern regions.
